Rhymesayers drops a clever package

I was working on a project with M.C. B-Free today and he was bumping the new Freeway and Jake One album, The Stimulus Package. I grew up listening to Rhymesayers, so I really respect their underground approach to producing proper hip-hop. I can't lie though, it wasn't the music that caught my attention it was the packaging. B-Free said it best, "An album you just CAN'T download....look how dope the packaging is." I agree. Packaging includes four Freeway bills, four Jake One bills, with lyrics and liner notes on the back, a wallet to stuff them into, and a free download card to grab the instrumentals. This unique package was put together by iconic hip- hop designer Brent Rollins.....A winner for sure! Thanks Ryhmesayers!!
Getting loose in 2007

Thanks again Trav!

Good things come to those who skate.

Spent some serious time in photoshop yesterday putting this advertisement together for The Symptoms Collective. Click for higher resolution! I have been doing art direction and graphics with The Symptoms Collective since its inception. These guys are an untapped resource of skateboarding talent and creativity. My friend and colleague, Travis Card, will be doing a nationwide release of his second full length skate film for The Symptoms Collective, "Good things come to those who skate". Travis is completely self taught in his trade as videographer, editor, and producer...oh yeah and he rides a skateboard while he films obviously. With no formal training and just raw desire, I really admire Trav for doing his thing as a freelancer, all over the world. Premiers will be dropping in the spring and summer of 2010. Coming to a shop near you!

Maybe you can relate?

I have been spending way too much time in front of a computer for the past eight months. In trying to hustle design jobs, I don't want to forget where all this inspiration comes from. So looking ahead to the spring and summer, I really want to be mobile while I work. Here is a little inspiration from my man Chile.
